The DISPLAY subdialog box should read Configuration: TwinView. It should detect both monitors and have their modle inside the little square representing the monitor. TwinView was a bear a few years ago but has matured nicely with the proliferation of the dual/three/quad-head workstations, it shouldn't be that difficult (hopefully). Please can anyone help me identify the problem(s) and get my Dual Head up and running? I have a Dell PE800 at home, running Ubuntu Gutsy and driving 3 monitors with a PNY nVidia Quadro NVS 440 graphics card, so am hopeful that I can do this similar thing at work.

Now, I have no idea if I was using the right one or even how I might specify which version I want to use, but I'm hoping somebody here will be able to enlighten me and point me in the right direction for success (be it one of the rpms listed above, or in another repository, or just show me the error of my ways). I tried using the nvidia-x11-drv via yum (though looking at it I'm not sure which version). I have done 'yum remove nvidia-x11-drv', 'rm /etc/X11/nf' and am using the system on just 1 monitor. My experience so far, is that if I run 'Xorg -configure' or 'nvidia-xconfig', seeing no errors, I move the resulting conf file to /etc/X11/ but my system not only fails to get a successful X session, I am left with a hung machine (in which even 'ssh' does not work. I intend on configuring Xinerama Dual Head capability in Xorg, but so far, I have been unsuccessful. With no nf, I get a usable X session (though my keyboard settings differ from the default (magic) config which gets used. I have now installed CentOS 5, which I believe to be essentially "RedHat Enterprise Linux 5" (correct me if I'm wrong). I tried installing Ubuntu to no avail and have asked for help in the Specific Ubuntu Dell Forum: The reason I chose this system was because it was Linux "tested", but I have been experiencing problems.
